We want everyone to be able to use this tool.

Our goal: North Point Computers wants the Coastal Bend Wind Zone Lookup to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, or other assistive tools. If any part is hard to use, please tell us and we will fix it.

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.1, level AA. This is a goal we keep working toward. It is not a claim that every part is perfect.

What we have built in

A clear label on the address box and the county dropdown.
Your result is announced to screen readers as soon as it appears.
A visible outline on whatever you have selected when you move with the keyboard.
The whole tool works with a keyboard, no mouse needed.
A county dropdown you can use instead of typing an address.
Plain, short language so the result is easy to read.

Where we still fall short

The lookup needs JavaScript to run. The page uses a single dark color theme today, and we are adding a "skip to content" link and more options. We also link to other websites that we do not control, and those may be harder to use. We are always improving.

We read every message. We will try to fix problems quickly. If you need a wind zone answer another way while we work on it, we will help you get it.
