The short version: This is a free quick-lookup based on public wind data. It is a helpful starting point, not an official report. For a permit, an insurance claim, or engineered plans, always confirm with the official ATC and TDI sources.

Using this site

You may use this tool for your own personal or work planning. Please do not try to break it, overload it, scrape it in a way that harms it, or use it to do anything illegal.

A quick-lookup, not an engineered report

This tool gives a quick read of TWIA territory, design wind speed, the WPI-8 inspection rule, and evacuation tier from publicly published data. It is for general information only.

It is not a substitute for an ATC Hazards site report, a licensed engineer's design, or insurance advice. County boundaries are accurate, but the exact wind speed at a single lot can vary. For permits, insurance documents, or engineered plans, always confirm with the official sources: ATC Hazards by Location and the Texas Department of Insurance.
