This is a free lookup tool. It does not track you. Here is exactly what that means.

The short version: No ads. No sign-up. No accounts. We do not track you across the web, build a profile on you, or sell your data. When you look up an address, we use it to show your wind zone and then we let it go. We do not save it.
Who we are

What this policy covers
This policy is about the website at coastalbendwindzone.com. It does not cover the other websites we link to, like the Texas Department of Insurance or OpenStreetMap. Those have their own rules.
What we collect
Standard server logs
Like almost every website, our web server keeps a short access log when a page loads. It can include your device's IP address, the kind of browser you use, the page you asked for, and the date and time. We use these logs only to keep the site running, fix errors, and stop abuse. We do not use them to figure out who you are or to follow you around.
No cookies or tracking
We do not use tracking cookies or ad cookies. We do not save anything in your browser. There are no analytics scripts on this site.
The address you look up
When you type an address, your browser sends it to a free mapping service called OpenStreetMap Nominatim to find the spot on the map and its county. We use that to show your wind zone result. We do not store the addresses you enter on our servers. OpenStreetMap is run by the OpenStreetMap Foundation and has its own privacy policy. If you would rather not use the address box, you can pick your county from the dropdown instead.
How we use it
We use the little we have to show your wind zone result, keep the site fast and working, and find and fix problems. That is all.
When we share it
We do not sell your data. We do not trade it. The only companies involved are the ones that host the site and the mapping service that finds your address. We will share information only if the law requires it, such as a valid court order.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for a short time and then deleted on a rolling basis. We do not keep the addresses you look up.
Your choices
You are in control. You can use the county dropdown instead of typing an address. Because we have no accounts and store no personal profiles, there is nothing for us to look up or delete about you.
Security
We use normal, up-to-date web security, including HTTPS, so your connection is encrypted. No website can promise perfect security. We keep the risk small by not collecting or storing personal data in the first place.
Children's privacy
This is a tool for property owners and contractors. It is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from them.
Other websites we link to
We link to other sites, like TWIA, the Texas Department of Insurance, and ATC Hazards by Location. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Big changes will be easy to see.
